Carolyn began her artistic journey with acrylics in 2008. Over the last two years, however, her practice has undergone a significant evolution. Embracing oil painting, she has moved away from pointilism toward a dynamic blend of abstract, impressionist, and expressionist techniques.
Her current body of work explores the emotional and visual richness of landscapes, still life, and floral forms. Inspired by the natural world, Carolyn's paintings are driven by a fascination with colour, texture, and the expressive potential of loose, intuitive mark-making.
Her influences, ranging from Suzanne Valadon and Edoaurd Vuillard to Paul Klee and Gustav Klimt - inform both her aesthetic and her approach. Her work invites the viewer to experience the vitality and shifting moods of the natural work through a lens of colour and abstraction.
